Overview

Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous wildlife conservation areas in the world, renowned for its large population of big cats, especially lions, cheetahs, and leopards. It is also known for the annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra, and other ungulates.

Wildlife

The park is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros) as well as numerous other species of mammals, birds, and reptiles.

When to visit

The best time to visit the Serengeti is during the dry season from late June to September, or during the Great Migration from December to July.

Activities

Popular activities in the Serengeti include game drives, hot air balloon safaris, guided walking safaris, and cultural visits to Maasai villages.

Safari Ideas

For an unforgettable safari experience, consider a luxury tented camp or a mobile safari that follows the Great Migration.

Accomodations

Accommodation options in the Serengeti range from luxury lodges and tented camps to budget-friendly campsites.
